Young Parent | The Front Burner

After attending a training seminar in Vancouver, for a new pilot program that is being launched, I couldn't wait to share some of what I learned

Support of young women impacted by mental health issues, violence and substance use/abuse is sorely lacking. The connection process to services in these areas is even worse. Often continuing the victimization of the ones they are trying to serve.

Finding ways to connect with young women where they are at and on their terms is always at the forefront of my practice. This ad struck me deeply as it really is engaging, timely and meeting girls and women where they are at; on line, on the phone and on social networking sites. Taking topics as heavy and emotional as these and finding a way to start making the connection process to safe, non-judgemental, educated and caring services, programs and professionals in the community is paramount in helping women to be informed,educated and find safety. This ad is brilliant in that it is current and the message is strong. What do you think?
